 About This Book...

This book was written primarily as a text for a first course in electronics for electrical engineering students. It should also be of interest to physics majors and to practicing engineers and scientists who wish to update their knowledge of semiconductor electronics and, particularly, of integrated circuits. There are over 720 homework problems, which will test the student`s grasp of the fundamental concepts enunciated in the book and will give him experience in the analysis and design of electronic circuits. In almost all numerical problems, realistic parameter values and specifications have been chosen. Each chapter is followed by many review (quiz) questions. Considerable thought was given to the pedagogy of presentation, to the explanation of circuit behavior, to the use of a consistent system of notation, the care with which diagrams are drawn, the many illustrative examples worked out in detail in the text, and to the review questions at the end of each chapter. It is hoped that these will facilitate the use of the book in self-study and that the practicing engineer will find the book useful in updating himself in this fast-moving field.

About The Author(s)

Jacob Millman is Professor Emeritus of Columbia University, where he held the Charles Batchelor Chair in Electronics. He obtained his B.S (1932) and Ph.D. (1935) in physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His first graduate year was spent in Munich, Germany (1932-1933). He taught electrical engineering at the City College of New York (1936-1941 and 1946-1951) and at Columbia (1952-1975). During World War II he worked on the development of radar systems at the Radiation Laboratory of MIT (1942-1945).

Excellent Content
The Book 'Integrated Electronics' is very well written by Millman. You can call it an encyclopedia for electronics students. The speciality of this book are 1. Written in easy and lucid way. 2. Relevent for begginers as well as for those pusuing advanced studies. 3. The book goes into fundamentals of every topic it covers, it quenches your thirst. 4. Neat and Relevant diagrams whereever needed. 5. Each new chapter tries to be independent of the previous one's so that you can take up any portion to start with, not bound to read the previous portion(in most of the case). 6. The problem set at the end of the book contains very interesting problems set in an orderly fashion, starting from the basic and becoming more and more tough. After solving the problem set you are really master in that topic. 7. The treatment of the subject is not very mathematical making it easier to grasp. 8. Contains a major portion of the syllabus of many competitive examinations like Gate, I.E.S,Civil services. 9. Recommended in most of the engineering colleges for graduation level studies in field of electronics. This book is a must for every electronics student.
