How will I receive my orders?

Once your orders and payments are fully processed, we pack your items for shipping. This is done with special care, so that you receive your order in perfect condition. Our couriers deliver these items at the address submitted by you while filling up the online order form. Students registered at our site have an option to receive their orders through their Campus Associates wherever Campus Associates are present.

What is Shipping Address?
The address where you want to receive your orders is called the Shipping Address. It could be your home or office. For students, it is the same address as their Campus Associate, when they opt to receive their orders through Campus Associates.

What is Preferred Shipping Address?
Once you place your orders with us, you can instruct us to store your shipping address so that you don't have to enter the address again.

What is shipping time?
Shipping time is the time taken to deliver your order at your shipping address, after the order has been shipped. It depends on where you stay and on the Shipping Method you choose while filling up the online order form.

Do I pay any shipping charges?
It depends. If you are a Student and choose to receive your order through your Campus Associate, you do not pay any shipping charges. If you are not a student or even as a student and choose not to get your order shipped to a Campus Associate or if your campus does not have a Campus Associate, you pay shipping charges as applicable to your order as per our shipping charge table.

Where does Firstandsecond.com deliver orders?
We accept and ship orders all over the world.

When do I actually receive my order?
It depends on the availability of items you order, the time taken by your payments to reach us and the shipping method you select.

To find out when you will receive an item, you need to consider the ship out time of the items you are ordering as well as the shipping option you select. Here's the equation we use:

Longest Ship Out Time + Payment Realisation Time + Shipping Time = Total Delivery Time

For example, many items on our site show 1 day availability. Your shipping time will be 1 to 4 business days, depending on where you live and what shipping option you choose. This means your total delivery time will be 1 day (ship out time) + 3 days (if you pay by cheque) + 1 to 4 days (shipping time). So you can expect to receive this item 5 to 8 days after you place your order. If you pay by credit card or PKN, your payment realisation time is zero.

What if my order includes several items with varying availability?
In this case, you can instruct us to Wait till all items become available before shipping (minimises shipping cost). While opting for this you naturally save yourself from recurring shipping cost. Or Ship items, as they become available (at extra shipping cost). In this case every individual item is shipped separately.  Naturally, this method involves multiple shipping and consequently recurring shipping costs.

Please Note: We will make every effort to send similarly available items together, though we cannot guarantee it. We may occasionally send your items in separate boxes even if you choose to wait until all items are available. This will not affect your shipping charge.

How do I know if my order has been shipped?
We will send you an e-mail as soon as your order is shipped out. This will also inform you about your order as well as when you can expect your order to arrive at your shipping address or at the Campus Associate's Address in case of students.

Can I track my orders?
Yes you can.

How do I track my order?
You can track your order by using your Order number or the Way Bill number. To track your order click on the appropriate courier.

What is Way Bill Number?
Way Bill Number is a 9 digit number that you can use to track your order. Once we ship your order, we inform you of your Way Bill number by e-mail.

Can I return wrongly shipped items?
Yes. We take great care to check and recheck your order items before we ship them to you. However, should you ever get a wrong item,
please click here. We will then direct our courier to deliver the correct item at your shipping address as well as collect the wrongly sent item at the time of delivery

What are GOC Rates?
GOC stands for Good Offices Committee. GOC decides the rates for transaction between all publishers and large buyers such as libraries, for a period of one month. New rates are set every month by the Committee. The GOC Rates currently are:

US $=Rs.48.30
UK £= Rs.84.30

What is extended delivery period
Extended delivery period is defined as delivery period beyond 4 days.

How to calculate International Shipping
The International Shipping consists of three possibilities. These are as follows:

  • Only Books or only Movies are ordered.

    (
Rate for First Book + (No. of books ordered - 1) X Additional Book)

  • Only Music(CDs / Cassettes) are ordered.

    (
    Rates for First 3 CDs / Cassettes + [(No. of CDs / Cassettes ordered - 3) / 3] x Additional 3 CDs / Cassettes)

Note: If result value of [(No. of CDs / Cassettes ordered - 3) / 3] is negative, then this would be considered as "ZERO". If the result value is positive decimal no., then it must be rounded off to next higher whole no. i.e. "0.2" will be considered as "1", "1.8" as "2" & "-1" as "0".

  • If you buy both Books as well as Music/Movies.

    [Rate for First Book + (No. Of Books - 1) x Additional Book] + [{(No. Of Music/Movie CDs/Cassettes) - (No. Of Books - 1)} / 3 x (Additional item)]

Note: {(No. Of Music/Movies) - ( No. of Books - 1)} / 3 would never be negative, if it is negative, then this would be considered as "ZERO". If this value is positive decimal no., then it must be rounded off to next higher whole no. i.e. "0.2" will be considered as "1", "1.8" as "2" & "-1" as "0".

This means you are enjoying free shipping on a music/movie CD/Cassette on every additional purchase of book. i.e. If you buy two books, you will get free shipping on one music/movie CD/Cassette, if three, free shipping on two music/movie CD/Cassette.

What shipping rates are charged in case of bulk orders? New

Upon completion of your order, an estimated shipping cost is added to your subtotal. When your order is pulled, it is weighed and the actual shipping cost is then calculated. If an adjustment needs to be made to your order total, it is done at this time and your credit card is also adjusted up or down accordingly. At the point of shipping you will receive an email which details the order totals.
